Every Versa Paddle or Gamut Paddle Holder system purchase already includes a support post, the length of which has been designed to work with that particular mount. Sometimes, however, the length of the support post is too high or too low due to design variations across kayaks models.
If you find the support post included with your mount is not quite the right height, you can exchange it for a different post and/or purchase a second one to have on hand for another paddler of a different height.
Please Note: Some support posts work with Angle Oar's own track mount (e.g., the Hinged Mount), some work with a RAM Mounts' spline post adapter and base mounts (e.g., the Twin Track Mount), and some don't need a base at all (e.g., Apex Mount). Be sure you understand which type of base you'll need for your support post as you'll need to purchase it separately.
Purchase includes a support post with dome cap. Angle Oar track mount and RAM spline adapter sold separately.
Support Posts
The post lengths included here reflect only the length of the support post itself. The base mount (either Angle Oar or RAM), as well as the clevis fork that holds the Versa and Gamut systems, will add additional height. Take this into consideration when choosing the height of your replacement post.
Once you've chosen the best post height, you'll need to purchase the corresponding Angle Oar track mount or RAM spline post adapter separately.
You'll need to attach the base to the support post using screws or a high strength, marine suitable epoxy, depending on the base.
If you purchased a full Versa Paddle or Gamut Paddle Holder system, you will aready receive a standard post for that mount as follows:
Hinged Mount with Versa: 5.475" support post
Hinged Mount with Gamut: 3.975" support post
Apex Mount: 12" support post
Twin Track or Custom Mount: 8" support post (usually)
